Client Access Licenses

BlackBerry client access licenses (CALS) are a seat or license that gives a BlackBerry device end user the right to access the services offered from the organizations BlackBerry Enterprise server. The server client access license is based on a per seat licensing (also called per user or per device) or  per server licensing.

BlackBerry client access licenses can be purchased in 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 server client access license key denominations. Upgrade license keys to take older small BES servers to full Enterprise editions are also available.

Client Access license keys can be added from earlier versions of your BES to your current version of your BES without upgrading them.  They are upwardly compatible from version 3.5 to the current version.

Client Access license keys can be used on both the older Professional and Enterprise servers.  For the newer BES Express, those license keys are only to be used on that server.

It is a good idea to have a few extra client access licenses available above and beyond your current BlackBerry count.  This way you can add a new user without the delay of ordering CALS.  If you do require addition CALS, you can order them at a discount from us directly and get them within hours.
