Looking to deploy a network based on the legacy BlackBerry server architecture? We have the servers and install keys you need. These servers are now very hard to find and BlackBerry itself does not stock them as they are moved to the BES 10 and now BES 12 platform. That being said it is still possible to find them and you can get them here.
You can use one of the 450 IT policies to configure and and manage BlackBerry handheld devices, the BlackBerry Desktop Software, and the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager in your company’s IT environment. An IT policy consists of multiple IT policy rules that manage the security and behavior of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For example, you can use an IT policy rule to manage security features and behaviors of the handheld like the ones below:
This version of the BES is a an unlimited user version (although we recommend no more than 1800 users) produced by Research in Motion that was developed for more larger enterprise IT environments and those that want added features like html email not available in the Professional Edition. There are some features like being able to delegate various password protected tasks to others in the IT to easily share the workload of a big BES deployment.
Update: The BES 5 server have been taken off the product listings from BlackBerry on November 13, 2014. We still supply and BlackBerry will support BES 5 for many years to come as many organizations continue to use BlackBerry OS7 devices.
